Experience in the contract aluminum and glass industry from 1981 to 1996. During that time I performed the following duties:
Shop drawing draftsman (hand and CADD generated), submittal package generator, job estimator/salesman, project management/takeoff, shop fabrication, field installation, billing and other correspondence associated with those duties. At my last employer (prior to starting ADI), I ran a small storefront division for an automatic door subcontractor. This is where I met and worked side by side with my future business partner, Bill Pilcher. In 1996 Bill and I formed Accurate Drafting to provide services to the contract glass and aluminum industry with our significant focus on shop drawing generation.

Experience includes all phases within the glass and glazing industry starting in 1977 through 1996. Duties included: Shop drawing interpretation, Field measurements, shop and field fabrication, framing systems erection (curtain wall-storefront-operable window work), glazing of such systems, all types of aluminum trim assessment and fabrication/installation, glass table man (cutting of annealed glass and all associated table type work), complete scope in custom mirror installation, heavy glass installations (mall work), mall slider work, automatic doors and all types of city service work encompassing aluminum, wood and hollow metal frames and/or doors and all associated door hardware. 1994 to 1996: Project estimator, project manager/coordinator, field superintendent, shop drawing draftsman. 1996 to present: ADI shop drawing services for the glass and glazing industry.

Work experience in many areas of the aluminum curtainwall, storefront, and window manufacturing industry from 1992 through 2003. Job descriptions included break press operator and fabricator, steel fabricator, window line fabrication and assembly, and curtainwall framing fabrication from 1992 through 1994. Began as a curtainwall take-off technician in 1994 and worked at that position for two years and began a career in drafting in 1996. Drafting responsibilities while still in the manufacturing side of the industry included architectural drafting from 1996 through 2001, drafting supervisor, trainer, and scheduler from 2001 through 2003. And from 2003 to present have been a draftsman for Accurate Drafting Inc. providing shop drawings for glass and glazing subcontractors.
Presently (since July 2019) working as a
drafter with the great team at Accurate Drafting, I have 40 plus years
of experience in the glass and glazing industry. I grew up in the
business working for my father who owned a glass company. I have many
years of field experience installing aluminum storefronts, and curtain
wall framing, estimating aluminum storefronts, and Curtainwall, and
project management of small to large projects. For the past 15 years,
I have worked for some great glass companies creating shop drawings
for the glass and glazing industry. My drafting experience involves
aluminum storefront, stick and unitized curtain wall, as well all
other facets of the glass industry. With this wide variety of
experience, it helps me to provide a great detailed set of drawings to
our customers.
